Wrong Place, Right Time (Bourbon Street Boys #2) by Elle Casey

Jenny’s single-parent life revolves around her kids and her job, which means that hours of Animal Planet and strings of computer code are about all she has time for. Not that Jenny’s looking for adventure or romance—she’s the type of woman who believes in playing it safe.
When Jenny is called upon to do some consulting for the Bourbon Street Boys—a New Orleans private security firm—she knows she should stay away. They conduct surveillance on known criminals and put themselves in harm’s way pretty much every day, so No is the obvious answer…Problem is, there’s a guy on the team with a body to die for and a dimple that just won’t quit luring Jenny in, tempting her to throw all caution to the wind.
Will Jenny take the risk or will she do what she’s always done—play it safe and wait for the right time?

Amanda's Review:
Elle Casey’s Bourbon Street Boys Series is one that revolves around an intelligent and Kick-ass security firm that recruit members who can bring certain skills to their team.   After having read the first book of the series, Wrong Number, Right Guy, that features much of the humour and entertaining situations that I love about Elle Casey’s writing style, I was looking forward to diving in to Wrong Place, Right Time. In the first book we were introduced to May and her recruitment to the Bourbon Street Boys, as well as the beginning of her relationship with the man who established the crew, Ozzie, we also saw moments of the other members of the security firm and May’s sister, Jenny, the main character of Wrong Place, Right Time.
In Book two readers learn more about Jenny’s life as a single mother and hardworking computer engineer, as well as more about her three adorable children. When the Bourbon Street Crew is in need of help from a Techie they ask Jenny and from her very first day there are unexpected misadventures, including being locked in a room with a very attractive man, a break-in during a building break in and a crazy talking hostage situation. To say Jenny has a boring uneventful beginning with the Bourbon street boys would be a lie. Along with all the contretemps of working for the security firm, Jenny has many other things she must deal with, including feelings for the very handsome Dev.
I loved the conversations between Dev and Jenny; they spoke enough to develop a good friendship, nevertheless I did think a few steps were rushed as their relationship became something deeper and I didn’t quite feel the strength of their connection in the end of the story. I think maybe a little more time spent together explaining shared looks and body language might have given more depth.
Explanations however for Jenny’s knowledge on computers was very well done and obviously well researched.  I loved learning about all the little things it would take for Jenny to accomplish certain tasks. Another aspect of the story well described was Jenny’s son’s character, Sammy. Sammy was an absolute cutie and with his big heart and good manners, we were able to see another side of Jenny’s personality.
Whilst I loved the humour, characters and storyline, I think Wrong Place, Right Time needed a little more romance between Jenny and Dev detailed.  For the parts of the story I enjoyed and other books written by Elle Casey, I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in the Bourbon Street Boys Series, Wrong Question, Right Answers.
