The Dance By Alison G. Bailey

The Dance
By Alison G. Bailey

***From Amazon and International bestselling author, Alison G. Bailey, comes a Contemporary Romance story about what happens after the happily ever.***

Bryson Walker stumbled heart first into the steady rhythm of her life, never questioning whether other possibilities existed. She had been Will’s girl since their junior year in high school, followed him to college, and married him soon after graduation.

In every respect, they were a loving and successful couple, until a series of missteps shattered all of Bryson’s truths. Maybe their life was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. A performance that was never based in reality.

Hart was barely an acquaintance. He and Bryson shared one brief moment during senior prom, full of friction and heat that ignited a spark. But that night Bryson walked away and Hart let her go.

Years later, twisted fate brings Bryson and Hart together again, causing her to wonder if this is her second chance at once in a lifetime.

Kell's Review

I'll be honest. I bought this book because of the gorgeous cover. It kept popping up on my Facebook newsfeed and I fell in love with it and just had to one click. I one clicked and it was the best decision ever. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Words can't describe how much I loved it. Alison's writing had me hooked right from the start and I didn't want the book to end. She sure knows how to draw us in to a story.

The story revolves around Bryson, who is a character I really enjoyed. She has a great sense of humour, gets ridiculously nervous and says some funny things and she has a heart of gold. Sure, she wasn't always the strong, outspoken, independent heroine all of the time, but who is? We all have our vulnerable side. Don't get me wrong, she showed strength and so much courage, that I was scared for her at times. She's real and that's one of the main reasons I enjoyed this book so much. It is real.

The storyline is a tricky one to explain without giving spoilers, but it is so different to anything I've read in a long time. I am a reader that always tries to predict what is going to happen as I read, but I got this one so wrong. Alison surprised me in parts and totally shocked me in others, to the point where I had to put my iPad down and have a break for a few minutes to take in what I'd actually read. I love it when an author can do this to me.
'Expect the unexpected' is a definite theme throughout this book.

Alison writes about sensitive subjects. Subjects most authors wouldn't dream about writing. Bryson's situation with her husband throughout the book is tough to read at times and I'm sure a lot of readers have their opinions on Bryson's decisions, a lot probably disagreeing with her. But, I do believe, in the situation she was put in, who knows how different people would react. Every reader would like to think they'd act one way, but would they?

I need to talk about my favourite character in the book, Hart. This man has moved to the top of my book boyfriends list. I couldn't get enough of him. You need to read this book, and I promise you'll agree. He is absolutely perfect.

I do have to warn you, it is a tear jerker. I ugly cried in this book more than I have in a very long time. The last 45 minutes had me sobbing on the lounge, tears streaming down my face and going through lots and lots of tissues. Every time I tried to compose myself, she'd hit me with more to cry about, but I loved it.

I have said in my book group that it is my favourite read for 2016 and definitely in my top 10 books of all time. Please, read it. I highly recommend it and I will now be binge reading all of Alison G Bailey's books. Her writing is exquisite.
