Amanda's Review:

Before going into November 9, I knew parts of what was going to happen because stupid me looked at a review with spoilers, which I never do, but it was just there and I couldn't stop looking and, and...it turns out it didn't really matter, as there isn't much that could ruin a CoHo book. From the spoilers I had thought, no surely not, there is no one that could make that craziness seem possible, but it's Colleen Hoover and there was no way I wasn't going to dive in and find out, because no matter what with all her other stories she has managed to keep me captivated from beginning to end. Now I'm not going to tell you what those spoilers are but I will say this, Colleen can make any story come to life, her words and structure are just so brilliantly put together that they hardly seem like fiction at all.

I honestly felt as though I knew Fallon and Ben personally, with heartbreaking back-stories, beautiful personalities and interesting thoughts they were more than just characters, they were two people I wanted to help when they ran into difficulty, two minds I wanted to listen to whenever they had something to say. For me they didn't have faults, sure they had made mistakes but that and the rest of the ways in which they handled what was thrown their way, only served to add so much more to their believability. Anything they may have done wrong was not a flaw but part of what led to showing their emotion, vulnerabilities and strengths, they were simply being human.

Not only was it easy to empathize with both Fallon and Ben when they went through tough moments, it was also understandable how the warmth in each of them could guide the other through those moments. Fallon may have seemed broken to some, because of the way in which she carried herself, but she had a kindness and beauty that shone when she let her walls down. Ben helped her to take down some of those walls brick by brick, with his quirky sense of humor, compassionate disposition and kind words. She in turn helped him with his demons by letting him in and also with her forgiveness of somethings. They were a couple that perfectly complimented the other.

There are so many intricacies within November 9, if you think the time frame in which Fallon and Ben spend together might not seem long enough to build any kind of relationship with depth upon, don't be fooled. Every detail, small or big, dialogue of light banter or deep and meaningful conversation created the perfect chemistry and most exquisite romance.

I love, love, loved November 9, it is yet another reason why Colleen Hoover will always be on my list of must read authors.
