Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS. BUT WHAT DIDN’T HAPPEN IN VEGAS SEEMS TO FOLLOW THEM EVERYWHERE—Book Three in the sexy, fun New York Times bestselling Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times Book of the Year) and Dirty Rowdy Thing.

Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense not to consummate their drunken Las Vegas marriage. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.

…Or so goes the official line.

In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one—and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?

Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now…and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim—and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture—Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.

Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life…
Review:
The relationship between the two characters, their comforting friendship, their charged chemistry, their wild infatuation, is so intoxicating, so consuming, it made it impossible not to devour Dark Wild Night within one sitting. I feel like I'm bordering on the point of obsession....no actually scratch that I'm there. I want more, not because there wasn't enough of a story in this one, but because there was so much so that I want all of Lola's and Oliver's stories. All of their moments from their first meeting, more of the in-between and everything that comes after. They breathed life into ink and became so much more than words, they were a tangle of emotions that caught me in all that they were and caused everything else in the world to go quiet.

I became lost in Lola's mind, enraptured by her creative thoughts, torn over her anxieties through the push and pull of entering into the places she was unfamiliar with, both in her career and relationship wise, plus the feelings she felt towards Oliver were so easy to understand....
Oliver's personality is one that instantly draws people in, he has a tender heart and a great sense of humour, and when you really get to know him you see his strength, the shoulder he would willingly lend to those he loves in times of need. There is also something different about him, almost like an alter ego but not quite, when his passion for Lola shows, it is like an explosion, unrestrained, earth shattering and beyond hot. I kinda of really want an Oliver. *sighs*

We also get to see glimpses of the other Wild Seasons series couples in this book, which I enjoyed; for a moment being taken back to the memory of their stories, though it never lasted for long as I was so wrapped up in Lola and Oliver. Would they or wouldn't they end up living happily ever after together...the whole time reading I really, really hoped that they would.

I loved the first two books of this series to a point where I never imagined this one could be better, it might have been able to equal them, but I didn't picture that after reading Dark Wild Night I would have a new all time top favourite read. I do though and I'm going to read it again and again many, many times and all comic books read and movies based upon ones I see, from now on, will remind me of Lola and Oliver.
