What If by Rebecca Donovan

What if you had a second chance to meet someone for the first time?

Cal Logan is shocked to see Nicole Bentley sitting across from him at a coffee shop thousands of miles from their hometown. After all, no one has seen or heard from her since they graduated over a year ago.

Except this girl isn't Nicole.

She looks exactly like Cal's shy childhood crush, but her name is Nyelle Preston and she has no idea who he is. This girl is impulsive and daring, her passion for life infectious. The complete opposite of Nicole. Cal finds himself utterly fascinated-and falling hard. But Nyelle is also extremely secretive. And the closer he comes to finding out what she's hiding, the less he wants to know.

When the secrets from the past and present collide, one thing becomes clear: Nothing is what it seems.

Review:
The lead up to this book was one of the best I have seen, lots of different authors and fans of Rebecca Donovan were posting their what ifs online, letting us know something beautiful that had happened for them because of something else not occurring. Not only did this make me smile and think about my own what ifs, it made me super excited to read a story that would be based around this question that everyone has asked themselves at one point or another in their lives. Once the book was released I downloaded it immediately, got to reading and instantly became addicted to the words upon the pages wanting to know all of their secrets.

One of the main characters of the story is Nyelle a girl that is hard not to like, her personality so fun, carefree and kind, befriends Cal, and takes him on some of her adventures. The memories that the two created together had me smiling, laughing and a couple of them brought tears to my eyes. And so did some of those shared between the other friends in the story. Cal and Rae held nothing back from each other, giving their honest opinions and most importantly always supporting one another in almost everything they did. Richelle and Nicole, the best of friends with no secrets kept from the other, doing what they could to try and make each other smile and live happily.

The main characters made their way into my heart and mind, tearing me from one emotion and thought to the next, with all that they went through and all that could have happened, I thought about all of the possibilities, all of their What Ifs. A brilliantly written story about friendship, love, loss and another couple of words I really want to write but won't because it might give too much away, this is definitely a book I'd recommend though.
