Dirty English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

THE BRITISH ARE COMING! THE BRITISH ARE COMING!

Now a Wall Street Journal Best-Seller

From New York Times best-selling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a new stand alone romance....

A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she's smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She's learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.

But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.

A tattooed British street fighter, he's the campus bad boy she's supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window. She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.

With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

*A modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice*

**DIRTY ENGLISH is an 80,000 word novel, but also enjoy the first five chapters of Ilsa's VERY BAD THINGS at the end of DIRTY ENGLISH!

Warning: 18 and over please. Book contains language, sexual situations, and triggers.

After reading Ilsa Madden very first release I became an immediate fan of her writing, Very Bad things and every other book published by this talented author since, has managed to sweep me away into the lives of her characters, to see, to feel everything they went through. It was no different when I picked up and then became captivated by the pages of Dirty English, yet another brilliantly told story.

Elizabeth Bennett was a character, that after only a few chapters, I felt I knew. Her thoughts, past and emotions depicted so well, it was hard not to cry for her over her insecurities, fears, pain and all else that she struggled with on a regular occurrence. When she fought hard to get back what she had lost, her courage, her strength and her freedom, even if only in small amounts at a time, each step she took I followed hoping not to see her pushed to the edge and dropped over again. Though in some chapters it looked as though she might give in, in the end she stood strong and didn't let dark memories defeat her. She is a truly amazing character, that had moments that were truly heartbreaking and others so triumphant and beautiful it was impossible not to wear a face splitting smile. Elizabeths story's beauty came from not only her personality, but from the friendship with Blake, Dax and lovely Shelley, as well as her art and the person there to catch her when she fell, Declan.

Declan has become one of my favourite book boyfriends, not only is he a hot, tatted up fighter, but he reads great novels and feels everything in life so deeply (whilst still managing to come off very manly). The relationship he has with his twin brother Dax is great, they are always truthful in what they say and though they might give each other crap about certain things they are always there for each other when the time calls for it. Declan also mostly listened to his brother when it came to the woman he loved, Elizabeth. He chased and fought for her, he fell for her hard.

Wow, what a love story they had, Elizabeth and Declan are totally perfect for one another, their chemistry magnetic! When ever one tried to push the other away, they just seemed to be drawn closer, the pull so strong between them that it never faded but became impossibly hard to resist. It was hard for both of them to trust (especially so for Elizabeth) as each had their fears of being broken by love, but when they did let down their walls it was amazing. They gave each other the strength to live, to breathe every breath for the future they could have.

Dirty English is a great read, I became lost in the story and fell in love with the characters, definitely one for my favourites shelf.

❤️ Amanda
