Wicked Sexy Liar by Christina Lauren

When three college besties meet three hot guys in Vegas, anything can—and does—happen. Book Four in the New York Times Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times book of the year that Sylvia Day called “a sexy, sweet treasure of a story”), Dirty Rowdy Thing, and Dark Wild Night.

For two people  ambivalent about dating and love, they sure get naked around each other an awful lot . . .

London Hughes is very content to surf daily, tend bar, hang out with her group of friends, and slowly orient herself in the years after college. Everything’s going great and according to the non-plan.

But when a wave knocks her for a loop one morning, then Luke Sutter’s flirtatious smile knocks her for another that evening, she veers slightly off course…and into his path. Sure, he’s a total player, but the Why not—it’s only one night is a persistent voice in her ear.

For his part, Luke’s been on hookup autopilot for so long that he rarely ever pauses to consider what he’s doing. But after an amazing time with London, he realizes that he hasn’t been moving on from a devastating heartbreak so much as he’s been drifting to wherever—and whomever—the current takes him. With London he wants more.

Every relationship involves two people…plus their pasts. And as much as she enjoys her fling with Luke, when London learns about his past—more specifically, who’s in it—everything becomes the brand of complicated she strives to avoid. It’s up to Luke then to change some things in order to try and ensure he’s not something she’ll outright avoid as well.

REVIEW:

No more playing Foreigner on repeat, if you want to know what love is, then pick up a Christina Lauren book, because these two ladies have all the right words to describe the emotions that come with the feeling when your heart is no longer your own. All of the anticipation, the angst, the fear, the thrill that comes with falling in love, is worded to absolute perfection in each of their stories.

When I read the first book of their Wild Seasons Series, I knew with every one that came after I would be falling head over heels, over and over again, with the characters and with their stories. Christina Lauren have not disappointed, and though there were moments where I thought it might happen, I have not yet been left heartbroken. It was with Wicked Sexy Liar that I felt the most fear of heartbreak, as London and Luke came together but danced upon a thin line where they would either become tangled in something beautiful or something that would break them both.

Luke loved a girl for most of his youth, a girl he thought he would be with for the rest his life, but then something happened to send them on different paths and he changed from a one woman man, to a guy that slept with countless women forgetting most of their names after each encounter. He was a nice enough guy, however Luke's reputation and his constant messages from multiple sleeping partners only made it harder for London to believe that he was boyfriend material, besides what did it matter she wasn't looking for anything serious...

I love how quick witted and sassy London was, even in her moments of insecurity she had smart and funny one liners ready to go. Though there was always this kind of uncertainty that slipped through her confident exterior, that showed she wasn't so sure about her every choice. She claimed to be happy surfing by day and bartending by night, but it just seemed as if something was missing, as if she had so much more spark, passion she had stored away to pour into something else that was only just out of reach.

Luke also had a fun sense of humor, the flirtatious banter thrown back and forth between him and London was really entertaining, keeping a smile on my face when reading a lot of the pages. Their chemistry was off the charts and the more they tried to deny it, the hotter it seemed to burn, even if they didn't always give into it. - a fact that left Luke feeling a little rejected, though no less determined.

The story flowed at a pace, that easily kept me captivated, I kept turning the pages wanting to know will they, won't they...end up together. There was never a moment where I wanted to skip ahead because all the moments in between were playful or heartwarming.... ok, ok sometimes there was a time or two where I got a little frustrated and thought will you two just get your crap together, seriously though you two belong together...yeah but still I didn't skip over anything, the writing was just that brilliant.

Plus not only did we get to find out a lot more about London and Luke in Wicked Sexy Liar, but a mystery many readers have been quizzing their brains over, searching through all of their memories of what they have read so far in the past book to see if they could find the answer, is solved! I won't tell you the mystery nor the answer, you'll just have to read the series to find out, but I will tell you, you're in for one enjoyable ride.

I love this book, this whole darn series so much and will reread every book I'm sure, many, many times in the future. Book Harlots if you haven't yet added every one of Christina Lauren's books to your TBR lists, I recommend that you do so, this writing duo has the most extraordinary way with words and storytelling. The flow of their stories does not falter, it is almost as if they are one mind and not two, they are definitely one-click authors for me.
