Amanda's Review

If you're an Abbi Glines fan, chances are you know of the character Nan, heck even a lot of readers who have not yet read an Abbi Glines book know who Nan is. A hell-raiser who has caused trouble for quite a few beloved characters, Nan is someone that readers love to hate, but in Up in Flames we see a whole new side of her that might just be changing the views that many have on her.

With each turn of the page, the vulnerable soul beneath the Ice Princess exterior is revealed perfectly with insecurities and loneliness described in flawless detail through Nan's sincere feelings and thoughts. The reasonings behind her sharp judgements and spiteful actions are put on display, finally giving readers their chance to see the ugliness that shaped who Nan is.

I don't want to give too much away, but we see parts of previous relationships and current ones that Nan has shared/shares with others and how they have affected her. Two important ones in this story are romantic attachments and I'm not going to lie, both men had their flaws as well as loveable traits. The scenes they separately shared with Nan, gave extreme insight to who she is and some of them were also downright *get ready to fan your face HOT*. I can't say that I loved either of them as a favourite book boyfriend but I definitely loved the parts they had to play within the story.

With the use of many other characters and an intriguing storyline, Abbi has done a truly tremendous job of creating a multilayered character, who will have readers questioning all their previous judgements. Love, love this story!
